A GIFT FOR TEACHER

Hi Creators

Tracey here with another classroom creation... Every year I struggle with what to buy teachers for Christmas but find that this little box of goodies is a favourite of mine as it is somewhat useful.... I think!

I purchased this craft organizer from my LSS and filled it full of stationery items like paperclips, erasers, push pins etc and in the empty spots CHOCOLATE!
I then used some school pattern paper that I had in my stash to decorate the top of the container. Adhering it to the container with Couture Creations 18mm Double Sided Tape ( I love this wide tape for projects like this, it assures a really strong bond)

Using my Couture Creations Nesting dies I cut some random shapes from matching Pattern Papers... Victorian rectangle, circle and after printing a quote (I am a teacher what's your super power?) a scallop rectangle.

Ink edges if desired and place wherever you think they look good on.

To personalise my box of useful bits and bobs I have taken some chipboard letters and painted them black then let them dry... Then I have coated them with Couture Creations Glitzin Glamour Black and then mixed in a little of the Glitzin Glamour Crystalina for a bit of extra sparkle without over doing it, then let it dry,,**HINT: mixing your Glitzin Glamour colours together will give you different shades and some very pretty effects..
Once your Glitzin Glamour is completely dry coat with dimensional magic and let dry... For extra depth of field and ultra shine complete a second coat of Dimensional magic.

Once finished it will be a gift fit for any Super Teacher!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.

CLASS GIFTS

Hi Creators

Every year my 2 beautiful daughters like to give things out to their classmates. Last year was Rudolph chocolates and reindeer food.. this year they decided they wanted to give out reindeer noses....

I purchased some clear plastic bags, malteasers and jaffas' from my local supermarket. Adding 8 malteasers for each reindeer and 1 red for Rudolph to each bag. Cutting cardstock to match the width of my bags and the length required to go from the bottom of the bag and fold over for a front tab.
I then printed all the reindeers names on the back and the name of the contents on the front.

Then with the Couture Creations Scalloped Rectangle nesting dies I feed the cardstock through the die so only one end would cut and scalloped the front edge. I then stapled it to the bag of noses and set about making a cute Rudolph to decorate the front.

From the Couture Creations Oval Nesting Dies I cut 1 of the 2nd smallest ovals from light brown cardstock. Cut 1 Couture Creations Magical Christmas Tis the Season Die in a darker brown.
ink around the oval with a brown ink for definition.

Cut the snowflake so that 3 leaf shape and 2 stems shapes are left as above  ( you will get 2 from each snowflake)

add the half snowflack to your oval so that the leaf shapes become his ears and the stems become his antlers, folding the middle leaf shape over to form a tuft of mane. Add some small circles for eyes and a nose and viola.... RUDOLPH!! Attach this cute red nose reindeer to the front of your noses...repeat for all classmates and send to school!

SPRING ROSES

Hi Creators Tracey here, My daughter set me a challenge recently to make a spring card so I immediately thought of the Couture Creations Joes Garden Embossing Folder.

I simply embossed a piece of Core Dinations White Wash cardstock with the Couture Creations Joes Garden embosse folder and sanded the roses with the Couture Creations Sanding Block

Then with some acrylic paint and a fine paint brush I coloured the leaves, I did this very roughly to create a shabby effect. Then simply embellished the card with some flowers as desired.

ONE IN A MILLION

My gorgeous daughter Tayla  is definitely one in a million! She is loving, responsible, thoughtful and a hard worker. Not to mention beautiful (but I could be bias). I love this picture of her my brother took while holidaying in Kenya and hoped to do it justice with a layout that captures her spirit.

I have been looking for a realistic looking rose leaf for some time now and Couture Creations has the perfect leaf to go with roses. You can see on this layout the detail in the leaves and how real they look. All this thanks to the Couture Creations All Occasions Embossing Folder Jazmyne... this has quickly become my favourite emboss folder.

I simply embossed a  piece of Jet Black Core dinations cardstock with the Couture Creations Jazmyne Emboss Folder and cut out those gorgeous leaves, moulded them with my fingers and tucked them under my flowers.

Butterflies a pretty popular on pattern paper and I love to cut their little wings out and 3D them with an alternate pattern paper underneath... On this layout I have added a bit of Couture Creations Glitz n Glamour to the pattern paper underneath. I also added it to the white Couture Creation Dazzling Doily die cuts under the photograph...
I hope you like this layout as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by and Keep on Creating!

ALTERED SHOE 2

My cousin has been married 25years and she has a small shoe problem... problem being which of her 150 pairs of shoes should she wear???? I while ago I did an altered shoe inspired by our very own Sue Smyth and my cousin admired it greatly...so for her anniversary I decided to do her one in her favourite colour.

Most of the flowers I have embellished this shoe with are made using the Couture Creations Nesting Die Victorian Square including the variegated one .. What a great set of Dies to make easy flowers with..

From Core dinations Cardstock Cut 3 of each of the smallest 3 Victorian Square nesting Dies with 1 of each size being a different colour or shade form the others.. Cut 3 quarters of the way into the die cut at each point and layer onto a brad making every third layer the alternate colour. Spritz with a bit of water to loosen the paper fibres and scrunch together one layer at a time. Then simply loosely unravel your scrunching to form your flower.  This is a great way to make your flower look a little different from the everyday.
The black flowers in the shoe are also done the same way but when finished I have spritzed them with spray adhesive and sprinkle pink glitter on them.

Here's hoping she likes it!!! And thanks again Sue Smyth for inspiring me to do my first altered shoe that then lead to this one.

JOLLY CHRISTMAS LAYOUT

Hi Creators Trace here again!! I am loving this new Couture Creations Jolly Christmas Paper Pad soooo much. Here is a quick layout that I did that features my gorgeous but sometimes naughty daughter Tayla and in the background of her photo you may be able to see the Christmas tree I always dreamed of... a black tree with silver trim.

I started this layout by spritzing the Bright White Core dinations cardstock with a bright pink.
then cutting a strip of patterned paper from the Jolly Christmas Paper pad I placed it through the middle of the page. Then I used one of the reversed sides of pattern paper from the same Paper pad slightly wider than the previous under the photo.
From another piece of reverse pattern paper I cut a small strip and scalloped it with the Couture Creations scalloped square nesting die to add to the side of the photo.

I then cut some artisan shapes using the edge of my Couture Creations Rose Nesting Die to place under the middle strip of PP and at the other end of my photo. Embossing them with Craft Concepts rubber mats.

Using the Couture Creations Sophia Die Choo I cut some double sided jac paper and added it overlapping the photo and added glitter.

Over the glittered Die cut I added some flowers and a bauble I cut from the Jolly Christmas Paper Pad. I then added some word stickers to the top and bottom of my photograph and capped them off with a bracket I made using the Couture Creations Victorian Square Nesting die by simply cutting along the edge of the die moving the paper over a fraction and cutting again.

I then embellished the top corner of the layout with some PP strips and some trees cut from the Jolly Christmas Paper Pad

COUTURE BAUBLES

Hi Creators Tracey here! I was racking my brain trying to think of projects that I could do with my daughters that was quick and easy, so I grab my Couture Creations 12x12 paper pad Jolly Christmas and found these great baubles that I could cut out. With a bit of bling they came up like this....

To do this project all you need is a Couture Creations Jolly Christmas Paper Pad, Couture Creations Adhesive Gemstones, fishing line, adhesives, Couture Creations scissors and some ribbon.

Simply cut out a pair of baubles from the Couture Creations Jolly Christmas Paper Pad (there are two sheets of each design in the pad so you will need to cut one from each sheet to get a pair)

take a small piece of fishing line and fold in half to form a loop and adhere 2 large Couture Creations adhesive Gemstones back to back over the fishing line..do this so there is a row of 3 gemstones.

Add the fishing line to the back of a bauble with a glue dot and adhere the two baubles back to back with Couture Creations Double Sided Tape

Add a ribbon bow to the top of the bauble and you have some really pretty Christmas Tree Decorations that are a quick and easy craft to do with your kids.

Thanks for dropping by

WILD HOLLY

Hi Creators

I was very lucky to be asked to create some cards to feature for Crop Stop at CHA using the Couture Creations Wrapped in Joy Embossing Folders. These Emboss Folders really capture the spirit of Christmas and I really enjoyed working with them. They give a clean crisp emboss and I especially like the Wild Holly folder. I hope you like it too.

I started this card with a 5"x7" chocolate base and cut and adhere a mat 4.75"x 6.75" in olive then cut a 4.5"x6.5"in a French Vanilla colour and embossed it with the Couture Creations Wrapped in Joy Wild Holly Emboss Folder.

Using a Couture Creations Sponge Dauber ink the embossed cardstock with red ink leaving the centre of the card its original colour. Then work in some chocolate brown and finally some olive green ink. Adhere to your card base. **TIP  Keep working the inks until you reach a nice blended look that goes from red to olive.

Now lets bring some nature into this card by finding and interesting looking stick from your garden and painting it with brown Acrylic paint and let it dry.

Wrap your very expensive branch embellishment with some white netting and attach it with some hot glue. Spray with spray adhesive and sprinkle with white glitter. Attach to your card base with hot glue.

From the Couture Creations Vintage Christmas Paper Pad cut some holly and this beautiful little wren and attach to your branch. Pop a flourish behind your bird using the Couture Creations Endless Dreams Decorative Die  Moments In Time and voila!!
**TIP Cut your Moments in Time Flourish in half and both pieces exactly where you like them.

You will find this card and others I created with the Wrapped In Joy Collection on the Couture Creations Website.
