Life is a Journey

Hi Everyone

My turn on the Blog today and I have created a little 5x5 card to feature today.

to create this little gem I cut some Ultimate Craft Cardstock in Denim to a 5x5 card base.
Then I added a layer of canvas with frayed edges for effect.

Then in one corner I folded the edge back for a more vintage look.
I then cut some more denim cardstock and tore off the same corner.
I cut a Couture Creations Sea Breeze Cardinal Frame in matching cardstock and placed it in between the cardstock and a piece of Sea Breeze pattern paper from the 6x6 paper pad. As shown below.

Then I added a Sea Breeze Metal Charm to offset the frame.

I then added some embellishments from the Sea Breeze Collection including the Sea Breeze Ephemera, Chipboard Die Cuts, cabochons and some gauze. Along with a matching Sea Breeze Windy Flourish Die Cut and a ships wheel Die cut using the Sea breeze Compass and Wheel Die

I added a small chipboard sentiment to finish off.

This card was really quick and very easy to achieve, I hope you can use it on one of those occasions that you need a card in a hurry.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Everyone

I am not sure why, but at the moment I am really loving shaker cards.....
So with a little help from some Couture Creations Acetate and some sequin I came up with this sweet little shaker for any occasion.

this 6x4 inch gem is just the right size to post or to pop on a gift.
To Start I cut a 6x4 card base from Ultimate Craft Cardstock then I cut a coloured mat and a slightly smaller white one.

from the white mat I cut 2 Couture Creations Beautiful Life Fluttershy die cuts randomly.
I kept one of the Fluttershy die cuts for later

I added some Couture Creations Acetate over the back of my cut outs and then surrounded them with Couture Creations foam tape and added some mixed sequin

I then adhered some scrap white cardstock to the foam tape (I added white because I wanted the sequin against white cardstock). Then add this to your coloured mat and then to your card base

I then added some Couture Creations Flowers in a cluster.
I took the centre from some and the leaves from others to add to my cluster.

then I added the Fluttershy Die Cut, I folded his wings up to look like he is in flight.

then i added a couple of Flitterby die cuts from the Couture Creations Beautiful Life Flitterby and Flowersigh die .
I stamped a Sentiment from the Ultimate Craft Magnolia Lane Stamp set and added some random

Thanks for s topping by

With Sympathy

So oft times we are creating for celebrations and happy occasions but every now and then a tragedy occurs in our lives or someone we are close to or even just an acquaintance and creating for this is a hard thing to do. But I know when I am creating for such an occasion it is done with love and fond memories and along the way it help me heal even if it is just a small amount. I have had such an occasion recently that a friend was suddenly taken from this world to share eternity with the Angels.
So to honor him, I have made this card for his beloved wife.

To create this card I first cut an 8x6" card base and an slightly smaller green mat and then another white mat from Ulitmate Craft Cardstock

On the white mat I spritzed some matching green spritz and the Using the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Botanical Damask Stencil I added some texture paste

Whilst the texture paste was wet and prior to taking the stencil off I sprinkles some Couture Creations Superfine Irridescent glitter over the top. I then helped it dry with a Couture Creations Heat Tool.

After drying I then added some Couture Creations Flowers and some Lace from the Ultimate Crafts Magnolia Lane Collection.
Then using the Couture Creations Its a Beautiful Life Flitterby and Flowersigh die I cut some leaves to place behind my flowers

Then with the Couture Creations Its A Beautiful Life Fluttershy Die I cut a die cut from Couture Creations Glitter Paper and Ultimate Craft snow white and spritzed to match. Then added Fluttershy to the cluster of Couture Creations Flowers

I added Fluttershys body using Couture Creations 2mm Gemstones, then I added some random bling around my cluster along with some sequin.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Under the sea

Hi Everyone
I am absolutely delighted to once again be the Special Projects Designer for the ArtDeco Creative Team.  I love this company and would not know what to do with myself if I was not designing with their gorgeous products. Sea Breeze.... I love this range as it is so versatile in the fact that I can make beachy layouts with it or nautical cards to under the sea creations.
I have done an under the sea card for my first blog post for this term.

I started this card by embossing some metal shim with the Couture Creations Sea Breeze Collecting Shells embossing folder.

Then with some Blue and Green Spritz I added colour to the shim drying with a Couture Creations Heat Tool.while drying add some glitter for added sparkle

then I cut some matching cardstock Coral from the Couture Creations Sea Breeze Seahorse and Coral Die, adding them to the side of my card making a bush of seaweed.

I added some shells and shell pieces and built my cluster up to the desired shape.

I then cut a Seahorse from the same die set out of Couture Creations Glitter paper white and added to the front of my card

Then I cut from white card stock a banner from the Couture Creations Sea Breeze Tied Anchor and Banner die set. I stamped the die cut with a greeting and placed it among my seaweed.

I hope you like the effect of the metal shim behind my under the sea scene.

HI Everyone

First of all I would like to thank everyone who attended my classes at the Brisbane Papercraft Expo this past weekend. I had such a great time with you all. I do hope you enjoyed your classes as much as I did.

Today I am popping on a quick card I made with the Couture Creations Sea Breeze Collection.

This underwater gem is a 5x7 card and can be made by following the below instruction.
Cut a 5 x 10 inch matching cardstock, score and fold to create card base
then cut a contrasting colour cardstock at 4.7" x 5.7"
Then cut a section from the Couture Creations Sea Breeze secrets of the ocean pattern paper from the Collection Kit at 4.6" x 5.6' and adhere all layers together

Then with the new Couture Creations Go Cut and Emboss machine cut out a few seaweed bushes fro the Sea Breeze Seahorse and coral Die.

I have cut 3 dark coloured and 2 white. once cut layer them on the bottom of your card

Once your seaweed/coral is in place add some muslin, shells and maybe a glass bottle of matching coloured glitter.

Then cut a Seahorse from the same die out of some white cardstock

add the seahorse to the front of the card slightly to the right hand side

then with Couture Creations Glitzin Glamour Crystalina add some bling to the die cut seahorse as well as the seahorses on the pattern paper and your all done.

Sampler Card

Hi Everyone

As I am gearing up for the Brisbane Papercraft Expo on the 10th, 11th and 12th of June I have a very quick card for you all today!
On more than one occasion that one of my children has come to me the night before and friends birthday and said "Mum can make Jane  card for her birthday".
With Being a busy Mum running around to sports practices 5 days a week and trying to help out at school and having a few deadlines to meet I find myself in the predicament of have to make a very quick card for said child. Here is one I whipped up the other day on just such an occasion.

To do this simple card all you need is the sampler paper from the Magnolia Lane range.
then simply cut 3 of your favourite samples out

with the butterfly sample I cut the wings out but left his body attached to the paper with a Couture Creations Soft Grip Craft Knife

under the wings I attached some Jac paper and sprinkled some Couture Creations Irridescent Superfine mix Glitter.

I then cut from another one of the samples a matching flower and a small butterfly from another pattern paper within the range and placed them on my other sample for the card.

I added some Couture Creations Glitzin Glamour to the butterfly and the center of the flower and mounted them with Couture Creations Mounting tape onto some Ultimate Crafts Cardstock. And leaving the center quote glued to the card base.

And that's it... A super quick card for one of those moments when you are just too busy.

Hope to see you at the Brisbane Papercraft Expo in June
